Eastleigh Borough Council's Community Development Team can offer a variety of support to the local community.  This includes:

  • Providing advice for people seeking to set up new voluntary sector and community groups
  • Support for new groups through providing "Start-up Community Development Grants"
  • Administering Local Area Committee revenue and capital grant funding to existing and developing groups
  • The provision of grant funding for Eastleigh Citizen's Advice Bureau and Eastleigh Community Services
  • Supporting the Eastleigh Borough Youth Council, an annual youth conference and the Council's Strategy for Children and Young People
  • Implementation of the Council's Racial Equality Strategy for 2005-2008 including the development of community groups and networks for consultation
  • Supporting the local Compact with the voluntary and community sector, jointly with Eastleigh Community Services, to promote improved working relationships
  • Supporting the Local Area Committees in developing their Local Community Development Plan outlining their priorities
  • Supporting the Eastleigh and District Disability Forum

One Community

The aim of One Community (formerly known as ECS) is to improve the quality of life for residents in the borough of Eastleigh by supporting local voluntary activities and providing a range of services and facilities, particularly for older people, carers and people with disabilities.
