Town Centre Development

Regeneration and Development

Eastleigh town centre is experiencing an exciting programme of regeneration and renewal. This has been spearheaded by the Swan Centre Leisure Development comprising a nine screen multiplex cinema, a bowling alley, childrens play zone, restaurants and bars. The complex opened to the public during Easter 2009.

Other schemes in the pipeline inlcude a hotel and retail development close to Eastleigh Railway Station and a mixed use housing retail and care facility fronting Leigh Road.

New Swan Centre Leisure Scheme

This is a major step in an ongoing programme of town centre regeneration with investors realizing the attributes that the town has to offer in terms of its affluent catchment, exceptional public transport and road links, large population in close proximity and a compact and walkable layout.

Successful regeneration requires the establishment of a clear vision and planning framework for the town centre. This is supported by the seizing of opportunities, the effective handling of major development proposals and the tenacity to follow through to successful implementation.  To promote the town centre and to set a clear direction for its development, the Town Centre Vision document has been updated.  For this guidance document to remain responsive to changing circumstances it is revised each year.  Should you wish to comment on it please complete the Contact Us form.
