Eastleigh’s town centre businesses and retailers are working together to attract more customers into the town.
They have formed the Eastleigh Town Centre Partnership, with Eastleigh Borough Council which has provided funding to help the project get established.
The Partnership’s role will help strengthen and improve Eastleigh as a business and shopping centre by providing a variety of incentives to encourage more people to shop in the town. These incentives will include discount vouchers and special promotions, including a parking benefit scheme, providing money saving opportunities for town centre shoppers.
The Eastleigh Town Centre Partnership was officially launched in the Summer 2009 at the Wells Place Centre, Eastleigh. Chair of the Partnership, Dee Buffone, who is also Manager of the Swan Centre in Eastleigh, said:
“We have already had a lot of interest in the Partnership and many businesses have already joined in advance of the launch. The new Swan Centre leisure development highlights current investment in the town and this is a good time for businesses to join the Town Centre Partnership and benefit from the plans we have and are developing to get more people shopping in Eastleigh.”
The Town Centre Partnership is a not-for-profit organisation and after expenses incurred in delivering membership benefits, funds raised by the Partnership will be used to attract more visitors to the town and the Draft Business Plan 2010/11 outlines the ways this money could be used.
