Eastleigh staged another Christmas cracker when the town launched its festive celebrations with a family fun day on Saturday 20th November 2010.
The Christmas Procession started in Market Street at 5.15pm and made its way into the High Street before ending up at the bandstand on the Leigh Road Recreation Ground. Then at 6pm the town was lit up when Eastleigh Mayor, Councillor John Caldwell – assisted by Santa Claus – switched on the town’s 2010 Christmas lights display.
A spectacular free fireworks display followed the official switch on of the lights and capped a special day in Eastleigh town centre.
